Help NEMO provide opportunities to make music by the community, from the community, and for the community

where and how to support NEMO and the people they work with

The work NEMO does, like all community engagment work, requires funding.  This is the easiest and most productive way to contribute to our efforts.

We have multiple options for making donations to help support our work:

  • individual one-off donations
  • regularly occurring donations
  • corporate or business donations
  • The Support an Educator Programme

one-off donations from an individual

If you are someone who just wants to help grow music in our community this option is perfect for you and your contribution.  It can be as much or little as you like and will go towards funding instruments, educators, rehearsal space and equipment, transportation costs of our participants, and other critically important costs.

Regularly occurring donations

The NEMO operating model depends on a consistent funding flow so that we can ensure ongoing and cumulative participation opportunities for our participants.  With that in mind we are desperately in need of donation committments which occur regularly every month.  If you are able to donate as little as £25 every month this would be hugely helpful to our work.

Support an Educator Programme

NEMO has created an innovative way to support music, musicians, and music-making in the Northeast through the Support an Educator Programme.  While funding an instrument or a student is an amazing way to contribute it is limited by its scale.  By funding an educator you can instantly increase that scale exponentially.  One educator can work with multiple students, across multiple musical traditions and instruments.  One educator can create opportunities for dozens of music participants.

A donation of £1000.00 can fund an educator for an entire month of music making, ensemble leading, music direction, and music learning for dozens of participants.  Our ensembles typically have 14-18 participants.  Ensembles are led by a single educator.  By funding the educator/leader you would be providing opportunities for many participants.

With this programme NEMO can not only provide many music opportunities but can also ethically remunerate our highly trained and experienced educators for their time and skill.
